Release time: 2021-04-06

On April 4, members of WZU research team visited veterans in Ouhai District and Lucheng District to conduct a comprehensive research about their welfare on this special day, Qingming Festival.

To analyze the life conditions and real needs of the veterans, WZU research team started to visit their homes since 2016. Together with non-profit organizations, they aim to make the society give more attention to this special and important group.

Yang Zhenhai, the instructor of the research team said that the special care for veterans concerns the stable and harmonious development of society. The voluntary service provede by Wenzhou University for veterans has always been a characteristic project. Through years of unremitting efforts, good results have been achieved. The research team not only brought practical help to the veterans, but also allowed teachers and students to learn from them, especially the patriotism and the sense of responsibility.

Chen Jiaxin, the leader of the research team, said that every time he gets along with the veterans, he is always moved by their stories. At the same time, the research team also learned about their difficulties and many shortcomings in the care work. We hope that through our data, we can help improve the work of special care for veterans and improve their living standard.

Several veterans visited by the research team expressed their warm welcome to the arrival. Ren Kesheng, a veteran who lives in Li'ao Street, Ouhai District, said that it was very meaningful for university students to carry out such social charity activities. “We are happy and willing to tell the situation to them and contribute to the improvement of special care activities.”

In the future, Wenzhou University research team will visit more veterans, strive to identify the top priorities and difficulties in the work through empirical research, gain in-depth understanding about the satisfaction of the preferential care recipients, and serve for more veterans.
