Sino-Italian Cultural Exchange Symposium held in Wenzhou University

 On October 30th, a delegation of eleven people from the Italian-Chinese cultural exchange education visited Wenzhou University and held a Sino-Italian cultural exchange symposium with the leaders of Wenzhou University and heads of relevant departments. The meeting was presided over by Yan Xiaopeng, director of International Relations Office of Wenzhou University. Qian Qiang, vice president of Wenzhou University attended the symposium. Student representatives from School of Humanities, College of Teacher Education, Business School, Liu Shimin, deputy director of Department of Cultural Exchange, Wenzhou City attended the symposium.

Qian Qiang extended a warm welcome to the visit of the Chinese-Italian cultural exchange delegation, and praised the long-term cultural and educational cooperation with the Tuscany Education Bureau and the Italian-Chinese Cultural Exchange Association. He hoped that both parties could continue to promote collaboration in various fields of education and culture.

Ms. MARIA OMODEO, Chairperson of the Italy-China Cultural and Educational Exchange and Research Center, briefly introduced the Italian representatives participating in the conference, Emesto Pelecchia, Director of the Tuscany Office, Italian Ministry of Education reviewed the history of cooperation between the two parties and, on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Education, thanked Wenzhou University for its efforts in cultural exchanges between China and Italy. Mr. PIERGIORGIO MENCHINI, Chairman of the COSPE, expected to work with Wenzhou University to protect the diversity of languages and cultures in different countries and regions around the world, and to create a more beautiful cultural world for all the people.

Mr. MARCELLO FERACO, Chairman of the Passacinese Association of Venice, and Professor GIOIELLA BRUNI ROCCIA, Director of the master courses of language and intercultural and business communication at LUMSA University of Rome introduced the Chinese cultural exchange activities carried out by university student volunteers in Italy and their language, culture and business courses. They hoped that in the future, more cultural activities with Wenzhou University could be carried out to facilitate exchanges between the two sides. Mr. Pan Shili, the director of the Italy-China Cultural and Educational Exchange and Research Center, expressed the hope that through this conference, the mutual understanding would be enhanced and the Chinese language and culture would be widely spread in Italy.
