Strategic cooperation reached by Wenzhou University and Austria Association for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification

On November 15th, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation between Wenzhou University and Austria Association for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification

was held in Conference Room 918, Administration Building of Wenzhou University. Vice President Qian Qiang attended the signing ceremony, and the heads of relevant departments such as the International Relations Office, the College of International Education, and the Local Cooperation Office attended the signing ceremony.

Vice President Qian Qiang, on behalf of Wenzhou University, extended a warm welcome to the visit of delegation led by Chairman Yao Longwei and Executive Vice Chairman Pan Yizhu. He said that this was the first time for overseas Chinese entrepreneurs, foreign friends and local cooperative organizations to attend the signing ceremony. Qian briefly introduced the history of Wenzhou University, the recent achievements and the university’s three major goals, with a special emphasis on building itself into an institution supported by the provincial and ministerial level featuring overseas Chinese education. He also pointed out that the development of Wenzhou University was inseparable from the continuous support of overseas Chinese from all walks of life. He thanked the Association for its support of Wenzhou University’s goals. He hoped that through strategic cooperation, the internationalization of Wenzhou University would be promoted.

Yan Xiaopeng, director of the International Relations Office of Wenzhou University introduced the main content of the letter of intent for strategic cooperation. He said that signing the letter would give full play to the important role of overseas Chinese in Wenzhou University’s effort to build itself into an institution supported by the provincial and ministerial level featuring overseas Chinese education.

On behalf of the delegation, Pan Yizhu, executive vice chariman and secretary-general of the Council, thanked Wenzhou University for its warm reception and expressed that it would utilize Wenzhou University’s advantages in education and scientific research to contact the heads of overseas Chinese groups from all over the world. It will help Wenzhou University find high-quality overseas educational resources and build more international ties.

The letter of intent for strategic cooperation was signed by Vice President Qian Qiang on behalf of Wenzhou University, and Executive Vice Chairman Pan Yizhu on behalf of Austria Association for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification. The two parties will form a strategic partnership to integrate their superior resources and work together to promote scientific research cooperation and exchange of overseas high-quality educational resources and high-level talents.

Introduction to Austria Association for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification

Established in November 2001, Austria Association for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification is an overseas Chinese group in Austria. In 2016, it was awarded the title of “Exemplary Overseas Chinese Group in Zhejiang Province”. In 2018, it was awarded the title of “Outstanding Contribution Award” by China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification.
