Carbon Energy sponsored by Wenzhou University was selected into the ESCI database

Release time: 2020-03-22

Carbon Energy sponsored and published by Wenzhou University was selected into ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index) database of Clarivate Analytics (formerly kno

wn as Thomson Reuters IP & Science). This is the first publication of Wenzhou University that enters ESCI, marking the recognition of the academic level and influence of Carbon Energy and laying a solid foundation for it to enter SCI database.

ESCI is a new international journal citation index database launched by Thomson Reuters in 2015. It is a new subset of Web of Science. ESCI maintains the same high-quality standards as other subsets in the selection of publications, and aims to include publications with important influence in the region, high-quality publications in emerging disciplines, etc. ESCI provides an academic perspective on the latest or emerging research fields and helps to understand new trends in related academic research. The entry into the ESCI database is a prerequisite for further entering the SCI database.

Carbon Energy was launched in November 2018. It was co-founded by Wenzhou University and Wiley, the world-renowned publishing group. Professor Shun Wang, the fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a national candidate for the Hundred and Thousand Talents Project serves as the Editor-in-chief. Professor Ji Xiulei from Oregon State University, United States, Professor Jong Hyeok Park from Yonsei University, South Korea, Professor Wang Jichang from University of Windsor, Canada, Professor Wang Xin from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Professor Zhong Cheng from Tianjin University, Professor Nicola Pinn from Humboldt University in Berlin served as associate editors. 32 famous scholars (14 academicians) with high reputation serve as advisory editorial board members. By publishing new theories, new technologies and new achievements in the field of carbon energy, the magazine aims to promote academic exchanges and commercialization of research results.

The magazine was rated as publication under the "Excellent Action Plan for Chinese Sci-tech Journals" in November 2019, and was officially included in Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) in July 2020. It obtained the domestic unified serial publication number in September 2020, and the international publication number in December 2020. 7 issues have been published, pooling 71 papers by top experts and scholars in the field of carbon energy from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, South Korea, Australia, China and other countries. The online articles have been downloaded by researchers in more than 120 countries, with a total of 100,000 downloads.

According to Professor Shun Wang, the editor-in-chief of the magazine, Carbon Energy is expected to be automatically included in the SCI from June to September, and the first impact factor is expected to exceed 10. The current achievement is of great significance for improving the disciplines of chemistry and materials in Wenzhou University, and enhancing their reputation and the influence.
