Wenzhou University, together with Wenzhou Medical University and Burapha University in Thailand, jointly built an international Chinese education program in 2006. Funded by the Sino-foreign Language Cooperation and Exchange Center, Ministry of Education, this program sends teachers to teach Chinese in Burapha University. Starting from 2006, Wenzhou University sends 2 teachers each year, and several Chinese volunteers to support the faculty of Chinese language in Burapha University. A total of more than 20 teachers have worked there. In 2016, Wenzhou University signed an agreement with the University of Siena and the University of Florence to jointly carry out international Chinese education program. Since 2017, a total of 5 teachers have been sent to teach undergraduate courses in cross-cultural language and business communication at the Arezzo Campus, University of Siena. Starting from 2015, the University also sends a number of Chinese teachers to the Milan Chinese School and Florence Chinese School to teach Chinese every year.
