Our School Journal CarbonEnergy Outperforms Global Energy Journals

      On 28 June, Clarivate released its 2022 Journal Citation Reports (referred to as JCR), which evaluates over 21430 high-quality scientific, technical and academic journal from more than 80 countries and regions across five continents by using a range of assessment indicators that cover over 200 research fields including natural science and social science. Our leading flagship journal Carbon Energy, established jointly with Wiley Publishing Group, received its very first Journal Impact Factor-21.556 since its establishment in 2019, successfully concluding its international debut with outstanding performance in the global energy journal competition.

      This journal successfully made its way to Q1 classification in all four subdivisions: ranking 8th amongst 163 journals in chemistry (physics) subdivision and entering top 5% of global journals in this subdivision, just behind four other world leading journals-Nature • Materials, Joule, Nature • Catalysis, and Advanced Energy Materials, whilst leading the domestic periodicals; ranking 7th amongst 119 journals in energy and fuel subdivision and entering top 6% of global journals in this subdivision, just behind two other world leading journals-Nature • Energy and Energy & Environmental Science, whilst leading the domestic periodicals; ranking 14th amongst 345 journals in material science (multi-disciplinary) subdivision and entering top 4% of global journals in this subdivision; and ranking 6th amongst 109 journals in nanoscience and nanotechnology subdivision and entering top 5.5% of global journals in this subdivision, achieving a historic breakthrough.

      Since its establishment, Carbon Energy has always strived for perfection in the aspects of editing, proofreading, quality, publicity and promotion of the articles and has been making constant improvement in order to improve the quality and popularity of the journal. In 2019, we were listed in the “High Start Point New Journal”-the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Program; in 2020 we were  included in DOAJ and CAS database and achieved CN number for domestic public issue; in 2021 we were included in ESCI, Scopus, Inspec and SCIE database; in 2022 we were listed in CSCD and Sci-Tech journal’s World Impact Index report and were a part of the CiteScore indicators released by Elsevier in 2021 and the Carbon Energy 2021 CiteScore was 16.4, ranking top in various different subdivisions.

      Carbon Energy made outstanding achievements in a number of journal evaluation indicators, which was not only a reflection of the achievements made during the journal construction and development but also showed the attention and recognition that CarbonEnergy has received from peers around the world.
